Almonds
the mother of nuts. Almonds are a great snack. They deliver dense calories with enzymes to help you digest. Try to buy unroasted almonds to get all the benefits. They tend to have beautifying properties (vitamin E) and reduce hunger.
pumpkin seeds
They're full of iron! A nutrient a lot of people struggle with in the plant kingdom (especially if you don't eat red meat). They also contain protein and good fats.
brazil nuts
4 brazil nuts everyday will give you the perfect amount of selenium - a mineral a lot of people are deficient in. Brazil nuts are extremley nutrient dense so you don't need a ton of them. And they're expensive. So eat them, but like not all the time.
flaxseeds
Flaxseeds have to be ground, not whole, in order for your body to absorb the nutrients. So you can either buy them whole and grind them up yourself (better bc oils are retained) or buy them ground. They are full of good omega 3's and all of the essential amino acids (complete protein). They are really good for athletes because they have good fat, protein, and lots of potassium to maintian proper hydration! Flaxseeds have also been correlated to fighting breast cancer which is cool!!
use them as a smoothie topper, egg replacement (when paired with water), add to nut butter, or slap em in your oats:)
cashews
Cashews are so cool!! They don't have a lot of fiber but they do have a lot of other good. Vitamin E, K, B6, iron, zinc, magnesium and so much more.
They're mood boosters! If you feel sad, eat some cashews. They're considered an antidepressant because they have so much tryptophan. Your body takes the tryptophan and turns it into serotonin. and sero makes you happy!! yay!!!!! The B6 helps convert the tryptophan and deliver the magnesium. So everyone contributes to putting a smile on yo face. Eat cashews everyday, and be HAPPPPPPYPYPYPYPYPYYYY
chia seeds
Ah yes. Ye old chia seed. Chia seeds have been used for thousands of years by the Mayans and Aztecs. Why you might ask?????? Because they're energy queens!!! They got omega 3's, antioxidants, fiber, iron, and calcium! All these nutrients work together to power you through your day. They expand in you stomach and in water. Make some chia pudding, drink some mamma chia, or sprinkle chia in your smoothie. You won't regret it.
